Spiritual Care
Jefferson Memorial Hospital's care addresses physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those we serve, so chaplains are a valuable member of the multidisciplinary care team. Chaplains are available to assist people of all faiths at any hospital location. Simply ask any staff member to contact a chaplain for you — they are available to assist you 24 hours a day, every day.
The spiritual care staff is actively involved in the care we provide, so you may receive a routine visit from a chaplain. We respect the religious traditions and practices of all faiths and are committed to supporting you. Chaplains are often available to:
- Visit with patients and family members – We can provide comfort and support for patients and families. Whether you need someone to listen, offer advice or encouragement, or join you in prayer, we can help.
- Offer assistance and resources – Chaplains can provide devotional materials and help with advance directives and other difficult matters.
- Coordinate with your clergy – If you would like to have someone from your faith tradition visit you or a family member in the hospital, we are available to help arrange it.
Whether you are anxious about your own or a loved one’s health, need help sorting through your feelings or have lost someone close to you, the chaplains are available to help.
